Netmarble, one of the largest gaming companies in South Korea, has made a significant move into the blockchain gaming space with its subsidiary’s coin set to be listed on a Japanese crypto exchange.

The coin, called NMRBL, is the native token of the Sui blockchain, which powers Netmarble’s web3 gaming platform. The platform allows gamers to enjoy various blockchain-based games, such as Kingdoms of Heroes and Seven Knights, and benefit from the ownership and interoperability of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to a press release, NMRBL will be listed on Zaif, a popular crypto exchange in Japan, on October 6. This will mark the first time that a coin issued by a Korean gaming company will be traded on a Japanese exchange.

Netmarble’s CEO Kwon Young-sik said that the listing of NMRBL is a “milestone” for the company’s blockchain gaming business. He added that Netmarble will continue to develop innovative games and services based on the Sui blockchain and expand its global presence in the web3 gaming market.

The listing of NMRBL is expected to boost the demand and value of the coin, as well as attract more users to Netmarble’s web3 gaming platform. The platform currently has over 1.2 million registered users and over 300,000 active users per month.

Netmarble is not the only gaming giant that is exploring the potential of blockchain technology and NFTs. Other notable examples include Ubisoft, Square Enix, Sega, and Atari. These companies are aiming to leverage the benefits of blockchain technology, such as decentralization, transparency, security, and immutability, to create more engaging and rewarding gaming experiences for their players.
